Olympics
The Greeks held the first Olympics over 3000 years ago and it took Catalina Sea Camp just a few summers to invent its own crazier version.
Campers are divided into four teams each with its own signifying color and theme. The themes change every year. Previous year's themes have been Hallmark Holidays, music themes, historic events in history and many more. After you learn what team you're on, you will head off to your team meeting. Teams are lead by four or five counselors.
At the team meeting your team will think of a team name in the spirit of your theme, create original cheers and sign up for what events you will be competing in. Events range from a camp wide relay race, our infamous Grab a Hose contest, and more.
After your team has chosen a name and olympic competitors it is time to march your team down into our Olympic Stadium where you will meet the judges and the Olympic Mascots.
After the Olympic Oath is given, it is time to begin! Your team will be judged on cheers, sportsmanship, and the outcome of the events. The wining team gets to sign the Gold SCUBA Tank and pride themselves that they are the best Camp Olympians.
