Mind Over Matter!

Sport Climbing

Have you ever been on a ropes course? Push your mind and body to the limit on Astrocamp’s 5 high ropes activities including the Catwalk, Vinewalk, Power Pole, Sky Coaster and our new Zip-Line! To see the descriptions of these click here!

You will be amazed at how quickly you can overcome these challenges when surrounded by positive encouragement and your friends cheering you on.

Afraid of heights? Don't worry because all our ropes course staff are well trained and our equipment is of the highest quality and safety standards.

1 Class Period

Bouldering

Get the opportunity to try out some of the hardest moves on the mountain without using ropes and staying close to the ground in the increasingly popular sport of Bouldering.

Bouldering is a variation of climbing that can be practiced on large boulders, at the base of larger rock faces/climbing routes, or even on man-made structures.

From the ground, look at what you are going to climb, examine possible routes you can take to reach your goal, and then go for it! If you are afraid that you will fall, don't worry, spotters are on the ground to direct you and help you land on a crash pad if you do happen to fall.

We will be spending time in and out of camp giving you a chance to push your skills to the limits.

2 Class Periods

Rock Climbing

Think you are ready to try your hand at climbing REAL rocks? Our experienced rock climbing staff will give you a crash course on safety and proper climbing techniques on our enormous indoor rock wall then get you outside climbing the many rock faces that surround Astrocamp!

Get a chance to see the beauty of Idyllwild from the top of a mountain that you just climbed. You will be amazed at how much you can climb if you're surrounded by your friends and skilled instructors.

This class meets for three hours to give you more time outside climbing!

Limited To B and C Campers
2 Class Periods

Advanced Rock Climbing

If you have climbed with us at Astrocamp before, you are ready for the next level of rock climbing.

In Advanced Rock Climbing you start off on bigger and badder rock faces right away. Use the skills you developed before and take it the the max.

If you are enrolled in Advanced Rock Climbing, you will have a chance to go on a rock climbing day trip full of top rope climbing away from camp.
